Raven Symone was born to Lydia and Christopher B. Pearman. The lady is best known as an American actress and R&B/Pop singer-songwriter. In Ossining, New York, she attended Park School. In her childhood, she worked for Atlanta’s Young Faces Inc. Modeling Agency. When she was at two, she modeled for Ford Models in New York City. Next, she made her appearances in ads for ‘Ritz crackers’, ‘Jell-O’, ‘Fisher-Price’, and ‘Cool Whip’ etc. At 3, she auditioned for a role in ‘Ghost Dad’. She didn’t get this role for bring too younger. In February 1989, she landed a role as Olivia in ‘The Cosby Show’ and she remained with the show until its cancellation in 1992. In next year, she joined ‘Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper’ as Nicole. She made appearances on movies such as ‘Dr. Dolittle’, ‘Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century’ and ‘Dr. Dolittle 2′ in 1998, 1999 and 2001 respectively. Raven also voiced Monique on the animated TV series ‘Kim Possible’.
In 2002, Raven auditioned for a role in ‘Absolutely Psychic’ and got selected for the role of the best friend of a girl who has psychic abilities. But lately, the name of the show was changed to ‘That’s So Raven’ and Raven became the leading character on series. It became one of Disney’s highest rated and longest running series and got two Emmy nominations in 2005 and 2007. In 2003, she appeared in ‘The Cheetah Girls’, a Disney Channel Original Movie as lead singer Galleria Garibaldi. In 2006, she re-portrayed her role in ‘The Cheetah Girls 2′. In 2007, raven guest starred on ‘Cory in the House’. In the very same year, she appeared in ‘College Road Trip’. Her very popular movie ‘The Cheetah Girls’ returned in 2008 but Raven decided not to appear in the movie.
In addition to acting, she has a very elite place in music world as well. Her debut album ‘Here’s to New Dreams’, was released on June 22, 1993. It called forth two commercially released singles ‘That’s what Little Girls Are Made of’ which reached on number sixty eight on the ‘Billboard Hot 100 and the second was ‘Raven Is the Flavor’. She also sang some songs for ‘That’s So Raven’ soundtrack album and next she sang some tracks on the ‘That’s SO raven Too!’. In 2003, she signed a deal with Hollywood Records and in September, 2004, raven released her third album ‘This is My Time’. Her fourth studio album came out on April 29, 2008. Her single ‘Double Dutch Bus’ has been the most downloaded song on iTunes and it topped out on the iTunes Top R&B/Soul Downloads chart. In summer 2008, Raven hosted Disney’s Block Party Tour and at the same time, there’re rumors about Raven Symone and Hollywood Records’ separation. But she confirmed in a recent interview that she’d return to the studio to record her next album in 2009.

She portrayed Raven Baxter on ‘That’s So Raven’ TV show. She was a girl who had visions of future and lived with her parents and brother. Helping her in all her tasks were Eddie and Chelsea, her best friends. Raven was the leading character on the show and series revolved around her while throwing a light on her everyday activities. Raven’s visions of what may happen or what would not happen always sent her in crazy situations and she was seen trying her best to get out of those. Her catchphrase was “Oh Snap!”. Her portrayal of ‘Raven’ made her a well known actress in TV world.
